Buffalo, NY: Some of the biggest names in the sport have been crowned the King of Bercy, but the list of multiple winners reads like Supercross royalty—Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Johnson, Johnny O’Mara, Jean-Michel Bayle, David Vuillemin (the only rider to win three times), Andrew Short and now Justin Barcia. Barcia’s first win came in 2010 and this past weekend the Team Honda Muscle Milk rider took his second crown ahead of his teammate Trey Canard.
Barcia took the crown with a three-race score of 1-1-2 to Canard’s 2-2-1. While the Dunlop-sponsored teammates dominated the competition, it wasn’t easy. Barcia crashed in the second elimination race and collected Canard in the tumble as well. This took both riders out of the final elimination round, which left them with less-than-desirable gate picks for the mains.
Despite struggling with starts, both riders battled each other all the way to the front of the pack to dominate the 31st running of the Paris Supercross.
Dunlop would like to congratulate Justin Barcia as well as all the other Dunlop riders who competed in the 2013 Bercy Supercross.
